Maguire and Lowton are two loan targets to return to the lane after being out of favour at their prem clubs. Should see a better distribution and attacking play from the back which we're lacking at the moment

Not saying you are lying cause there's always a possibility but I just don't they'll get sent out to league 1. I personally believe these players would get much more benefit from going out on loan to championship, for numerous different reasons.

2.) First of all I don't think hull would buy a young defender with potential from us in league 1 to send him back down the leagues. They would want to look to bring him on and I'm sure he could get a champ club. As for lowton, a player who has been a regular for villa for the last 2 seasons. He is an excellent replacement/backup and villa would let him come to league 1.

3.) 14 Sep 2014 22:21:17
I know they would both definitely get into champ clubs, but it looks like we're going to put offers in when the market opens. When you think about it though Brayford could have easily got into a champ club last season but HE choose us because of NC and persuaded Cardiff to let him go, a similar pull factor that Lowton and Maguire would have with our club.

4.) It would be amazing if this happened but it seems highly unlikely

5.) I'd much rather look to the future, not the past. Instead of looking to bring yet more new players in, what about our own youngsters that were praised highly by the manager when they played a few games each last season?

Reed, deGirlano, Khan, Diamo and Kennedy were all tipped to make an impact this season, but only 2 have even been given squad numbers!

So much for a youth policy!

6.) Forget about Brayford and Maguire, however much we want them they will not be coming as neither Hull nor Cardiff want them to go to a League 1 club. If they go out on loan it will be to a Championship club. FACT

7.) 15 Sep 2014 13:36:17
Forget Brayford etc NC has just said that he intends to sign nobody on the radio today. Seem's strange after all the hype and what about the money we had, it's ok to say we put bids in for players but now we do not need anybody anyone else thinks this is also strange or is it just me that want's honest answers from the blades board.

8.) OldLocalBlade- got to agree with that tbh, isn't diego meant to be the next biggest thing from our academy? The youngsters need to be given a chance

9.) Utd did everything they could to get Brayford but Cardiff won't play. They don't want him going to a League 1 club.

10.) 17 Sep 2014 10:20:50
Old Local completely spot of. don't want or need Maguire or Lowton or Brayford. Bring the young lads through and save money for a decent striker (if Diego not going to be given a chance) when transfer window/loan starts. Defence seemed to be doing ok now they are settling in. Were 6th in league and are unbeaten in 6 games. let's have a bit of positivity guys.

Chris porter and Ben Daviea sign new 1 year deals

Derby_Blade

1.) Is this a trick so wolves will put a bid in for porter

2.) 09 Jun 2014 16:51:26
Dunno why we not gone 4 Ishmael miller looks like oldham signing him he will bang 20+ goals in league 1

3.) Now guys I like blades fans but why have a go at us Wolves fans if you had done like we have and got promoted out of div 3 your better players may stop, that's not our fault that they think there future is brighter with us, Harry looks set to sign, good luck for the coming season and I hope we meet again soon

4.) I hope our season doesn't rest on the shoulders of porter!

Freeman and Davies on a free from derby, signing Salmon and getting young striker Mason Bennett on loan from Derby

Derby_Blade

1.) Ben Davies will most likely join us on a free transfer but Kieron Freeman won't, he still has two years left on his Derby contract so they won't let he go for nothing, especially as they know we have money to spend. I wouldn't be surprised to see us buy Freeman, also we are extending Bob Harris' contract too.

2.) Ben davies and freeman yes, Bennett no more likely to get marc mcnulty from livingstone

3.) Masons said he'd be looking for a loan move away if derby get promoted as he wouldn't get enough game time in the prem, he's currently out at Chesterfield

4.) Johns Wests Salmon. its Sammon ;)

Mason Bennett signed a year loan. Decent signing from what I've seen playing for England

Anyone else now seriously worried about the Collins-Butler CB combination if Maguire does end up leaving? Today's performance surely pushes Harry's price tag up to £10m?

Derby_Blade

1.) No need to panic, we were unbeaten in all friendlies last season and look what happened. have faith, let em get to gel with each other. probably used some players from second string and burton punished us with full strength side.

18 Jun 2014 17:46:44
Tim Cahill anyone?

Derby_Blade

1.) Get serious! Has been a great player, just scored 2 goals already in World Cup, and he's going to drop down to 3rd tier of English football. What are you on?

2.) I'm sorry I should have put a 'sarcasm disclaimer' but thought that was obvious! Is getting on a bit though ;)

MD Mal Bannigan - "No interest in selling Maguire. rejected two bids from one club (assuming Wolves). going to make him see out his contract regardless of whether he signs or not as staying here will be best for his development. hasn't rejected the offer put to him yet and will be left on the table until the end of the season if he doesn't sign. as we're not in a position where we need to sell players"
Sounds good to me, mainly because we can now laugh at Wolves at the fact that he's staying. Although it does mean that the rumours of him leaving are probably just going to hover for the whole window unless he signs the new contract.

A lot of high quality players being released from the prem both young and old. Any players particularly catch anyone's eye?

Derby_Blade

1.) Tankovic from Fulham very young and played against us in the cup and was their best player

Would like to see that as long as he doesn't replace Mcgahey and hinder his progress. Especially since we currently only have 2 fit CB's!

Is this definite? Thought Clough said he was going to see who performed better in pre season, and so far I'd say Long has out performed Howard on all basis. Personally rather see Long in goal anyway. Especially if we've got Butler at CB.

I am thinking the same, do we really need a striker if McNulty turns out as good as Scoogs and Baxter and Diego looking good this year with Baxter a lot fitter and quicker and Diego looking like he's recovered and pushing for a first team spot himself. I recon we could sign Mason Bennett on loan until January when Ched is likely to return as Clough loves him

No second bid has been made. Pretty surprising that the Sun got a story wrong!

Turner looks good experienced back-up, Alcock easily our best player so far this season, Mcgahey is young so is going to make the odd mistake like Maguire did but looks promising, McEveley looks experienced and solid, Basham looks a good leader who admittedly had a poor start but now looks solid, Wallace is injured so can't comment, Campbell-Ryce looks pacey and skill full with a good ball into the box, McNulty looks a nuisance who looks promising and Higdon isn't fit yet so can't comment. Which of these are the 'shocking' signings you're talking about? Cloughs built a lot stronger squad than we had last year which will prove vital in 6 months time.

Guessing you mean Kieron? Isn't going to happen anyway until Derby sign a new RB.
