I'm not convinced, but the Daily Mail is reporting that Avram Grant will be the next manager.
I'm not even sure if he would make a good manager with the Blades. He has no football league experience what-so-ever. He did ok with a few Israeli Clubs, Chelsea and Partizan Belgrade. But he was awful with West Ham and Portsmouth.

Still, he's a better option than anything else seemingly on offer - he'd be my choice out of the people 'in the frame' there's none better connections-wise, - very much worth a try imo

Well they've reported that they're in talks with him. To be honest I wouldn't mind it. It could be an inspired move and he could convince top players to come to the Lane with him.

Suppose Weir would have good contacts for Everton and Man utd, if they would maybe loan us some players as a favour to him, as well as having an insight into the scottish market

I'd love to know what TOP PLAYERS the poster further up would come to the lane?

We don't need to bring in premiership youth players, we have our own youth players to develop if were going to go down that road. We need to bring in veteran players to play along side the youth players to get us out of L1, we have lost our best stars at the lane and they need replacing. Robson, Kitson etc. They are the veterans that were inspiring our youth players but our biggest mistake was selling Nick Blackman for what in my eyes was pennies for our leading goal scorer (£1.2m) and last but not least if Weir is to be appointed manager then i'd be more than happy with his appointment even though i'd prefer a bigger name in the business however Weir can bring something to the table with contacts from the spl but personally i'd prefer someone who actually plays attractive football.
