Huddersfield are reportedly poised to sign 21-year-old defensive midfielder Conor Coady from Liverpool. The England Under-20 captain has been the subject of a bid from the Terriers, who were impressed by his displays on loan at Sheffield United last season.

Surely if he does leav and we stage an offer, i'm sure he'd rather join up with us as he'll know a few of the lads

Liverpool told us 1m so 500k plus add ons yet Huddersfield get him for 370k plus add ons, something doesn't add up

I think they were trying to get as much as they could for him when we asked then Clough thought i'm not going to be held to ransom and brought in other players, at that point liverpool had overplayed their hand and also spent over 100 million so decided they needed to get some peripheral players off the wage bill. We are about full up with midfielders so they took what they could get for a quick sale. As much as I liked Conor I think some of the players Clough has brought in will do a better job for example Basham and Wallace UTB

St Johnstone forward Steven MacLean hopes fellow striker Stevie May will stay at the club this season. May, who scored 20 goals in the Scottish Premiership last term, is the subject of serious interest from a number of English clubs including Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday and Rotherham. The 21-year-old is set to feature in Thursday's Europa League qualifying second-leg tie against Slovakian side Spartak Trnava - and MacLean hopes progression in the competition will help persuade him to rethink his future plans.

Agreed. Brayford was good but time to forget about him. I think young lad Alcock will do as well if not better anyway. Money will be far better spent on getting another good striker and sending Porter on loan somewhere. Anywhere. Please.

Only signed a 4 year deal with Villa last year and plays regular, don't think that's going to happen any time soon.

Also, why can't we get Maguire back on season loan as he most likely won't get a game at hull and can still get first team experience?

According to several reports Matt Lowton is out of favour at Villa and some clubs are looking to try and get him on loan. so its not out of the question.

Alcock is very capable. Would be good to have Brayford back but from what iv seen, Alcock is the perfect replacement. I also think Alcock is too good to be sat on the bench anyway. Some cover is needed though.
