Harrison McGahey has signed a two year deal with us with the option of a third. Expect one more permanent deal to be concluded early next week and kieron Freeman on a season long loan to be announced. That'll be it for this transfer window. Clough stated he doesn't want a massive squad, wanting quality over quantity and that all transfer deals to be nearly complete at the start of pre season

So no striker?

Rumours on twitter we're still trying to bring 1 in, hopefully be anounced next week.

We have a few strikers is it enough we have mcnulty, porter, Baxter, de giramarlio and Ironside it's not that bad we only play one up front anyway

Doubt McGahey will count in the squad, will be in the reserves with Kennedy. Not a bad pairing for the U21's though.

For everyone complaining about lack of strikers (even though we have already brought one in & both the manager & senior officials at the club are telling us that we are on with the search for another) please read James Shield's article in Sheffield Telegraph today. Sums up why we aren't just rushing to buy, deals take time and certain deals at other clubs can make people available that we didn't think would be. Keep the faith, plenty of time until the season starts and Clough has steered us well so far!

Agree9 Disagree3

During the window we could of had sammon sharp ogrady derbyshire hitchcock mccloud vukic and we let 2 striker's go and replace them with one unproven one and one clough doesn't really want as his main man. Bristol city have 2 good strikers so do orient prston have 1 barnsley have 1 we have the best team in the division up until the forward line (so far) but we won't finish top 2 without 2 not 1 top strikers ( hoping ched will be the answer would be a mistake)

Agree6 Disagree10

How can you say we could have had these players? Where have they gone, don't think many of them have moved on? A few in higher divisions and those in the same division won't come cheap. Would you be happy if we sold to a club in the same division, ie Macdonald from last season. Very silly to say we could have had these players. We won't spend silly money for no reason and nor should we. It will happen and it could be one of those players you listed but forwards are valuable commodities and deals don't happen as quickly. And Ched is definitely not the answer!!

Agree8 Disagree5

Firstly let me spell it out so you don't feel its silly. ALL of the above strikers are/were available the end of last season or during this window. Is it silly to suggest we can't match the wages of Rotherham MKDons and Crawley for out of contract strikers and we also missed Chuks Aneke who is now overseas we could afford all these strikers maybe only billy sharp would stretch us. However credit for understanding ched isn't the answer lol

Agree0 Disagree7

All piping up about no striker, he's built a squad of containing the ball, its pretty obvious what he's next step is. united started the spending early.
9 June – 31 August not even half way through it yet and already bought a new team. all will come in good time, would even put money on it if I could.

Agree5 Disagree1

Thank you for spelling it out to me A81 but half the strikers you named are still at there respective clubs (Sharp, Sammon, O'Grady) I'm pretty sure they are all under contract so only available if their clubs want them to leave which might only apply to Sharp.

Derbyshire has gone to the Championship, which is understandable because footballers want to play at the highest level. It's not just about matching wages, like Clough said we don't want to sign players that are just after the money, it's short sighted.

You are calling McNulty unproven but again I'm pretty sure he has played and scored in Scotland, I'm no fan of Scottish football but it still counts. Not to mention Clough wanted him at Derby so maybe it's not the gamble you are suggesting.

Never rated McCloud and he is a bit of journey man now anyway. You sound like you are more bothered about getting any player in than getting the right player in.

So yeah I stand by my original statement that it is silly to say we could have had all those players!

Glad we agree on Ched though and hopefully we will sign another forward soon but I'm pretty sure the same people will still find something else to complain about!

Harrison McGahey to be unveiled today I know he is another defender but in my opinion a very good acquisition

Believable12 Unbelievable2

Mcgahey may be too young to step up to the plate, but what now HM.

Agree5 Disagree7

The general opinion is that McGahey is as good as Maguire or has the potential to be as good. so Harry should think long and hard about his future because he isn't guaranteed first team football at Hull and is Wolves really that big a step forward at this crucial time in his career?

Agree9 Disagree3

Is he (now) guarenteed first team football with us?

Agree4 Disagree1

To guarantee him first team football would be foolish I think. but he probably thinks his development is better served at bramall lane.

Agree4 Disagree0

If Maguire stays and I hope he does, pretty sure he will be a first choice. I would like to see Maguire and Butler paired up.
