Talked to billy sharp today at his tournament said we've made an offer for him and it's in the hands of his agent.

Fricking hope so

We are signing Porter on a new deal, how disappointing, 7 goals in the league and we are going for the title next year, 7 league goals probably his best return in a blades shirt and how many were pens, he was returned to us by Chesterfield he didn't score, he was returned to us by Shrewsbury he scored a lucky goal, he comes across as a nice guy but we need to put this to the side if we want to go up, sorry not good enough for league 1. If I was defending for the other team I would be happy to see his name on the sheet.

Agree14 Disagree7

If you look carefully at many of United's recent goals you will see Porter dragging defenders out of position and opening up the goal for others to score. I think that Porter is a good squad player. There will be better obviously but we should give him credit for his major contribution this last half of the season - league and cup.

Agree13 Disagree7

Sorry, thank you for performing very well over the last 12 weeks Chris Porter, not a bad return over 3 years, sorry the lad is not good enough and it is time to go and spend the wages on someone else, let's move on, if you think Porter is the answer then thsts your opinion but for me he is possibly one of the worst No. 9s I have ever seen.

Agree13 Disagree9

He may be giving him a new deal but we need a bit of experience coming off the bench. You've seen what he can do in the last 20 minutes when brought on. Will be a good squad player next season

Agree7 Disagree3

Obviously being an impact sub isn't good enough for some people. They only want players who all score 30+ per season without fail and never put a foot wrong.

Agree5 Disagree2

Porter an impact sub??? for the confrence, no pace, no power, can't head the ball, can't shoot and doesn't score goals, sounds great let's sign him up.

Agree3 Disagree7

Yeah the goals he scored this season were obviously scored by someone else because he can't score.

Agree6 Disagree1

Dont dispute he has scored this season, we are talking 7 in the league and how many were penalties.? We are one of the lowest scoring sides but you think Porter our number 9 is due a further deal, oh dear, tell me what pub you drink in before the game because it sounds like the beers good.

Agree2 Disagree5

If you read what Clough says about what's been offered to Porter it doesn't sound like they are very good terms or that he's confident he will accept them. I personally think having Porter around wouldn't hurt especially with volume of games we play in a season across all the cups including JPT.

Agree4 Disagree0

It's amazing how many people think that all forwards do is score goals. Porter has scored 7 in the league but his movement, his size and his overall play have created many more. He's a good squad player and he contributes. Not every striker in a squad is expected to get 20+ per season.

Agree3 Disagree2

I will (gladly) eat my hat if Billy Sharp signs. I have a feeling my hat free diet will remain in place though.

Agree2 Disagree1

Porter for his size is weak and his overall play is not good enough, afterall we have been playing Baxter in his spot as a make shift striker and that says it all, 1st division player at his very best, my 7 year old could knock him off the ball!

Agree1 Disagree2

Any chance of signing your 7 year old? We'll need someone that strong when Harry moves on.

Agree1 Disagree0

Was this at the billy sharp tournement?

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope he gets a new deal for you as I don't want to see you upset, I really hope he is the 20 goal number 9 we need to get out of the league, your comment that people are stupid wanting goals from a number 9 just amazed me, anyway let's bring a close to this discussion, UTB

Clough is interested in for Derby County loanee Zak Whitbread.

Believable13 Unbelievable5

If that's true that wouldn't be a bad signing. He isn't a bad centre-half. i'd also take a look at Sean St Ledger - Bono

Agree10 Disagree5

I wouldn't buy any of them because we have the best centre half's in the league but I would buy one of them if one departed

Agree3 Disagree7

Can find better than Collins
