Sheffield United have announced the double signing of defender Jay McEveley and goalkeeper Iain Turner.

I personally think they are a couple of decent pro's that will add depth which we lacked last year.

If your happy with utd signing moderate players Jesus we are in trouble on way back from cov absolutely abismal no threat up front, why are we only playing one up front we need another striker, the back 4 from left to right should be Harris, butler, collins,Alcock midfield Doyle should be starting as much as I think reed is decent he's lightweight not good enough yet choping and changing the side can only be a bad thing we have all been blinded by the number of signings.higdon needs 2 stone off iv seen faster snails

Feels like de ja vu. Whys cloughie playing McEvely before JCR? The lads only just come through the door. Keeping Collins and Baxter on the bench. Even Doyler? Seems he's killing team spirit. Weir did the same bringing people in and throwing them straight in. Baxter was quality in midweek and should be started in the middle. Collins being on the bench baffles me the most though. Never looses a header and has the experience. If we lose again then the pressure will really be on. People will say its early days blablabla but let's not forget how Clough went on about hitting the ground running!

Hearing rumours there"s been a fallout between Butler, Collins & Clough. If this is true it wants sorting.

5.) 17 Aug 2014
12 average Joes = average team

Not one quality signing. Ok, you could argue Alcock, possibly Wallace and maybe in time Hidgon. But face facts, hace we really replaced Coady, Brayford and Harry?

Couple that with the unfit Scougs, Flynn and Murphy and the apparent falling out with Butler and Collins and what are we left with?

An absolute disaster that's what

Totally agree with you pal something not stacking up with Collins and butler there's something going on they should be the centre half pairing for me without a doubt

7.) 17 Aug 2014
I am not saying we have brought in the best players in the league however if we are whinging like this after two games then we really are in trouble. Last season we got off to a terrible start and weren't even creating chances at least we are creating some chances and whilst I know there is room for improvement it seems we are really swift to forget the job Cloughie did for us. We have to have a modicum of faith in the man that came in and turned us round completely. Also it looks like he bringing in defender/defensive midfielder for season from Arsenal on loan Isaac Hayden let's hope he is as good as Coady.

I don't believe we have replaced them 3. As far as i'm concerned Collins should be on the pitch whether paired with Butler or McGahey. Alcock looks quality at rightback (where he played majority of pre-season) and should be played there. This team he keeps putting out doesn't work and constantly throwing balls into the box. The only signings I rate are Alcock and Wallace looks decent. Basham is very average. If you look back at Bristols second goal, a midfielder running beyond our defence and think about our play it never happens. Clough needs to do the right thing put collo, baxter and doyle back in the team before things go from bad to worse. I don't care if it is only the second game its still not good enough and Clough is at fault

C. an't believe how fickle as fans we have become. I think that we should at least give NC a decent amount of time to get the team running how he wants and as for playing the blame game at this stage that's just ridiculous. It is behaving like that in my opinion that has us in this position. For the last few years all we have done is berate and belittle every manager then sack them. let's be honest at times we all think we know better than the manager however we only see a tiny fraction of what is going on and if you pay a bloke to do a job we have to let him try to do it and not second guess him especially when he is in possession of all the facts not just half of them.

10.) 17 Aug 2014
Nobody is saying that cloughie needs the sack but the fact is, we've been poor in the 3 games. We've had one decent half. People are just shedding there opinions of which I agree. I think cloughie could have done things differently and better. This thing all about giving him time is a load of jibberish. He did all that work with us last year which was undoubtedly brilliant so in my opinion he's in the same position as any other manager. Got his team, lost a few players and gained a few players. If they can hit the ground running then why can't we if the team was good enough.

11.) 18 Aug 2014
Spot on RedandWhiteWizard. Clough didn't mention once about giving the team time. He talked about hitting the ground running, hence why Miller was let go, but it seems a few of our players havnt hit anything. Clough said he signed Basham so we 'hit the ground running' but the lads struggling. Doyle doesn't look like he's struggling in his performances, nor Collins and nor does baxter so why not give them a proper chance? Knowones being fickle I just think what we are seeing is not quite right and doesn't ever look like its going to work. Weve had ONE good half and that's it. One obvious thing we do lack actually, during the games, is leadership.

12.) 19 Aug 2014
Having said all that and feeling a little deflated, I still think and hope cloughie will come good. :) but only time will tell!

13.) 20 Aug 2014
Excellent AWAY win which will do confidence the world of good. Good to see the baxter, collins and doyle back in the side. Was also glad to see davies pushed further up because he's got a goal in him- sounded like a good finish. I think having them three back in the side gave players like murphs a much needed lift. Really happy with the result. Well done cloughie!

No fall out between Collins, Butler and the gaffer. Just both too slow to play together
