I would love to see this but I can't see it happening forest have spent lots of money and might want to offload some players. However Halford did bring down murphy for the penalty in the cup last year so is he past his best? where would he play?we need fullback cover and he played left wing under Blackwell and centreback and centre forward for forest in the last 2 seasons!

How is a player past his best just because he gave a penalty away? Halford would be a good addition giving good cover at the back if needed.

And let's not forget a throw in like a rocket!! Was as good as a corner and with Higdon being so good in air could be a good move. Always really liked Halford and very versatile. However still can't see it happening.

Totally agree Chez. Halford could actually be very useful

Chez lad I said i'd get back to you regarding Basham. Sorry but I'm still yet to be convinced by the lad. He gets about the pitch well but there wasn't many hard hitting tackles, recycling of the ball or chance creating. The first goal was his fault. He had the ball in a good position but got easily and carelessly disposessed. He seems a little lost.
Still unsure about the team selection aswell. I think if collins is on the pitch, the lad at the back stick doesn't have a free header.

Icey Babey totally agree. He was poor today. Majority of team were average apart from Reed and Allcock who were awesome. Hate to pick out individual players and always try and find positives but in McGahey I couldn't find any. Looks slow, missed several headers, marking poor and can't pass. I feel VERY VERY sorry for Kennedy as he was awesome last season when covered for McGuire. For me Kennedy and Collins at CB, Allcock LB and get Halford in at RB. Also still need another Striker if we aren't going to give Diego a chance

What game were you watching? Both Basham and mcgahey were solid no one had a bad game apart from murphy who was average. And higdon tired not surprisingly in the second half, Bristol are a good organised side who will challenge, if we played that game 3 times we would win 2 of them. There is little need to panic yet! Halford would be a useful addition

What game was you watching A81 chez blade is bang on average fits most of the team on Saturday under performed apart from Alcock and reed

Because of mine and Chez previous discussions I paid perticular attention to Basham and tbh Doyle does a better job than him. McGahey did ok but I still see Chez's point- he is still quite raw. Was the switch at the back tactical or does Clough not rate Collins? I know Davies was put at right back to get him on the pitch for his deadly crosses but Alcock has a decent centre aswel. Second half we was average and was killed off ruthlessly- Something we need to learn to do. The next home game has to be a massive improvement for me to be convinced and that team can't be played again.

Not sure why neither Doyle nor Collins was on the pitch but in Cloughs interview afterwards he mentioned that Higdon got the armband because those two didn't start the game so I'm guessing that it was tactical. Maybe he just thought that because of how Bristol play Alcock and Basham would be better suited to handle them than Doyle and Collins. I think next match we'll see both of them return with Alcock playing at RB
