United confirm talks are ongoing with James Beattie. Risky signing in Wilsons eyes but a background check has been undertaken as to his current level of fitness. May have an effect on any January signings though with regards the financial implications of signing him. United are only prepared to pay a wage in keeping with League 1 wages.
