Mason Bennett to sign on loan in time for tomorrow's friendly

Think that would be an inspired signing

I would be happy to have mason bennett as back up to mcnulty however is he the answer to our need for a 20 goal striker. I doubt it! He is not the finished article yet like an ogrady or a sharp. We need to stop messing about with maybe's and spend the money on a proven striker and this is no dissrespect to Bennett who I pray proves me wrong and scores 15 by christmas!

Agree3 Disagree9

With all due respect I think he could be the answer he has been restricted to short appearances at Derby and there are no guarantees with the likes of sharp either so I would give him a go everybody who has worked with this lad says he has the potential to be brilliant and if cloughie was still at Derby I think he would have shown it last season.

We don't need a 20 goal striker to be fair, if everyone can chip in with goals we will be ok like butler did

every team needs a goal scorer

Although a great striker can make a massive difference, we've seen all too often what happens when you rely too much on 1 player, i'd prefer to have a creative midfield that all chip in & a goalscorer that works hard to support that (Brazil vs Germany!)

When was the last time a side got automatic without a 20 goal striker?? The talk of germany not having a striker is untrue they had klose and couldn't score against Argentina until extra time, and then it was a centre forward who scored that!! let's get real forwards score goals and that turns draws into wins. With a striker automatic is a possibility without one playoffs are likely and games will be tense all season

Brentford & Wolves didn't have a 20+ striker (although 17&16 are close) IMO - Baxter & McNulty will both get around 15 in a team that's playing well - ScougallFlynn & Murphy will get close to 10 & that will give us a top 4 spot, although I would LOVE a 20+ striker I don't think it's essential and it doesn't guarantee you promotion - Just ask B. City, Rotherham, Coventry & P'boro - they all had 20+ strikers!

Bennet signed a new 4 year contract at derby

Ask Rotherham they are a championship team! They got promoted. Peterborough made the play offs. Coventry would have made the play offs without the 10 point deduction (and not selling leon clarke to wolves, who along with wilson both got more than 20 goals each! Last season. Hence the sale of both to now championship teams) Goal scoring is the hardest thing to do that's why striker's cost a premium! And as for Britt Assombalonga he won't be at peterboro by the end of this season I will take a bet on it if you want one lol. Maybe Craig Davies is the answer

Blade 101 Hopefully Higdon will finish the chances and net us 15 to 20 this season. As for not needing a 20 goal striker Bristol city are bringing 2 to the lane on saturday. And I wish you had taken me up on the assambalonga bet! I am more comfortable now we have a proven goal scorer and mcnulty looks useful so heres hoping we have a positive season!

Bid accepted for Maguire from Hull, could make a path for the return of Brayford??

Surely now we can get the beard and a quality striker then we are sorted

Agree8 Disagree5

Brayford will be going to a championship club

Agree2 Disagree5

Beard definitely not coming unfortunately - OGS believes he is a good player and wants to keep him at Cardiff.

Agree6 Disagree4

Clough wanted Brayford back but I believe it was Cardiff’s relegation that put the spanner in the works. We move on.
