More info on the imminent sale of SUFC to an American consortium. Meetings are taking place this week and the main money men are the Rooney family ( not Wayne & colleen, before the Wendy fans start). The Rooneys who own Pittsbergh Steelers and are looking to expand their business empire due to strict investment restrictions within the NFL. The figure head is Sean Bean, but this just a publicity exercise. The real investment will be from a consortium of three US investors led by Art Rooney II.
The plans are based around building trade links and sponsorship deals between the two proud Steel Cities.
This will be the biggest event in SUFC's proud history
