Expected. Currrent manager has no faith in the youngsters coming through. Expect Philiskirk, Ironside, McFadzene, and others also to be sent elsewhere while he brings in other outsiders who do nothing but increase the wage bill.

Does not seem to have any faith in philliskirk either given a 10 min run out in jpt and then not even on bench since even though he is too scorer for 21's by far he will be sent out on loan very soon as well watch this space. Shame really deserves a chance

Not true Maguire and Long are flourishing under Wilson as was Lowton last season. He keeps giving younger lads a chance now and then but I think he needs to send more out on loan to develop. When you're pushing for promotion, it is risky business experimenting with youth players. That is why the JPT was a good opportuninty to do so and Wilson did so.

Wait... You'd prefer players playing in the reserves or U18's? How are they gaining experience from that? Surely they need to be sent to other teams to allow them to gain experience, any player needs experience, from 16 years old, to 40 years old.

Maguire was already a regular in the team before Wilson arrived as for long he has getting in because of injury but done fantastic since he has been in Wilson is renowned for going with older players the likes off philliskirk will not get a chance under him so his best chance is probably to go out on loan
Agree4

Harry Maguire had played five matches before Wilson arrived.
Long has bas been getting chances under Wilson, before Howard was injured. Long has had his fair share of appearences for a goalkeeper of his age.
Philliskirk would have been better going out on a season long loan in League 2 where he could have developed with first team football.

Two words, Busby Babes. A average age of 21. Wilson give the youth a try. We've lost are first match so there no excuses now.
Agree5

So because we lost one match due to a controversial penalty in the dying moments of the game which Karl Robinson can't even why it was given, we have to play a youth team now??
IJA

No but we should give a chance to miller Atleast.

I agree with you to an extent, however, we do not watch him for say 4-5hrs a non-fixture day (ex sun). It would suggest either Wilson is doesn't agree he (miller) could have the same impact over the whole game or he (miller) isn't better than what is currently playing... Answers on a postcard...

Theres some right persons on here just try and av a pop for the sake of it instead of supporting the team! Ive seen the Under 21s and 18s quite a few times and although theres quite a few decent players i wouldnt say theres many ready now. For me Harriot and Chappel are at the front of the que and rightly so have been sent out on loan to gain experiance. Also i dont think Philliskirks good enough

Nice to see Miller score 2 goals !
We all knew he could score, hopefully he will be played from now on...

My argument has just been proven with miller proformance. We need to chance our formation for a passing side. We complain we don't have Pace so what is the need for wing men?

Utd to move for nathaniel Mendez Laing who has been transfer listed by Peterborough after a breach of discipline apparently along with 4 other first team posh players! Good speedy winger IMO! I'd be happy with that!

So we're meant to sign an un-ruly cast-off from P'bro rather than play our own players. No way!

Didn't we have him before?

Maguire has been called up to the England under-21 squad!

This is just more recognition of our amazing Academy and Youth System. Compare our youth system to Manchester United's, all our youth lads come from South & West Yorkshire and North Derbyshire, whereas Manchester United's come from all over the country and elsewhere. Our youth system does well considering our youth scouts aren't everywhere unlike Manchester United's and we don't buy youth players from other clubs either.
When was the last time the Wendys produced a player which gained international recognition? It was actually our Richard Creswell in 1999 and he came through York City's youth system, not the Wendy's.

Glen Whealan, Chris Brunt etc etc the list goes on. And these are full internationals.

I was reffering to English players, but anyway, Chris Brunt came through Middlesbrough's youth system and Glenn Whelan came through Manchester City's youth system. Not Wendy's youth system.

Last England back four, walker Cahill jagielka baines, 3 out of the four ex blades players! Says it all!

Go on then carry the list on.... Because they're only two, who at for the smaller nations! No disrespect to Ireland etc but where Are they ranked? I mean we had Daniel bogdanivic full international... For Malta lmao!

Maguire has just signed a new contract and publicly said he dosent want to go! He could have gone already

Ok. When was the last time Sheff Utd had an England player? I don't mean ex players that have gone on to play for England I mean playing for Sheff Utd and Enland? Surely it must be twenty odd or thirty years ago? Bad players, bad team, bad club. There's your proof. Nuf said.

Blades last had an England player around same time when Wednesday did. We had Brian Deane who was capped 3 times from 1991-92. Wednesday had Mel Sterland who earned 1 cap in 1988.

Jags got a call up for the England b's when we was in the prem. So i guess that kind of counts

Andy Sinton, Des Walker, Carlton Palmer, David Hirst, Chris Woods etc etc. The list goes on. Real big clubs have real England internationals.
Agree0

So cos Wendys last had an England player 18 years ago and Blades had one 20 years ago, this somehow makes the Wendys a 'big club'?
Shame you've got naff infastructure and a naff youth system, producing the likes of the critically acclaimed world class Richard O'Donnell.
Anyway like I said, the last time Wendys had an England under-21 international was in 1998, the Blades last had one last night.

Last night? I think not. You need to get your facts straight before posting drivel. When you look at Wednesdays team past and present it's always been weighed down with international footballers. Also any player that's been any good for Sheffield united tend to have been released by Wednesday. Sheffield united are always on the look out for ex Wednesday players and even managers so when it comes to good infrastructure only one club in Sheffield can claim to bring the best out of individuals and that's The Wednesday.
Agree0
Disagree3
What? Alan Quinn and Leigh Bromby? That is it, hardly amazing players either. Besides, they weren't released by Wednesday, they were offered new contracts and rejected them in favour of joining a decent team in Sheffield on a Bosman!
Also you only have two internationals Reda Johnson and Pecnik, who play for teams which are ranked at 77 and 46 by FIFA. They don't play for top international teams because Wednesday can't attract or produce such players.

T.C, both Bradshaws, Chris Marsden, Alan Quinn, Leigh Brombey, Richard Cresswell, Danny Wilson and many many more...
Agree0

Chris Marsden started his career with United and ended it with Wendys.
Paul Bradshaw never played for United.
And most of them players you mention only found success with United!
And DW got you relegated from the PL and you've never recoved for that, he will forever live in the History books as a United legend!!

Strange how Cahill was only on loan and Villa produced him. Also, i admit, Walker was in your academy but only played 2 first team games before Spurs bought him (came back on loan for 26 games). Yes United have a decent academy (i admit wednesday are behind) but all your decent players get sold on because McCabe is skint and currently united sit 13million in debt. I hope you boys get promoted be good to see Wednesday V United in the championship next year and hopefully in the Prem in 5 years. Please know you facts before posting on here. There has been billions of pounds spent on the internet so people can get their facts right before posting rubbish on rumour site......USE IT!!
