George long is said to be close to finalising a premier league move however will be loaned back for season
Very much doubt it
George Long in the BPL? Are you for real sir? YES he is young and YES he is a star quality goalkeeper BUT the lad is still only Championship class at the most. George Long is also a BLADES FAN AND BLADESMAN! He will not go anywhere till he has served his purpose for the club that he loves BUT if he was to be sold on to the BPL I woudn't be surprised if i'm being honest as that is simply what we do (train our stars up and sell them on for brass buttons like walker, naughton, lowton before they can hit there peaks which would trigger a bigger fee automatically) If were going to be selling players i'd imagine that these will bring in the biggest transfer revenue though. George Long, Harry Maguire, Tony McMahon + Kevin Mcdonald. don't YOU BLOODY THINK ABOUT IT MR McSCABBY!!!
Why would he want to move, and sit on bench when he's getting first team football. also just signed a long term contract
get real!!
I know your having a pop at McCabe and rightly so. But your argument is floored. Jags had a relegation release clause. Lowton was in his last year of his contract and we got 3 mil, he on four times his wage at Villa. Walker and Naughton didn't have a pro contract and we sold then for 9 mil. Tbh that's is good business. The debt has come from off field problems and relegation. Plus I would sell Maguire for the right prices (2. 5/3 mil) but other then that I would keep him. he's contracted to 2015 so we want sell him cheap till atleast last season.
McCabe and his board have had years to get it right but all they do is to sell good young players at the wrong time and for peanuts. How long can a club go on with no ambition, Mr McCabe has put a lot into the blades but he has also taken a lot out as well, So when people tell me he's saved the club yes he has but this club has also and still is making him a lot of money that is why will not sell if it is not Mr McCabe to blame for seven managers in seven years then who?.
Think about it. He's the only League 1 player let alone keeper in the England Under 20s side for the 20s World Cup ahead of every elligible keeper in the prem bar 2 (Johnstone and Butland). Do you really think he will stick around for long? Yes a loan back would be ideal but I can see the Blades selling.
Both kyle's wer sold to get them away from Blackwell, who never liked the youth team set up, but ware did the money go from them??
Long is a good gk still learning his trade in L1, keep him, a move might do more harm than good, for him, BUT, money talks,
